The expression of beauty through hairstyles has been a long-standing signature of Black culture. This has been a sensitive topic of discussion for decades with roots all the way back to the Civil Rights Movement and beyond.

Untangled allows a variety of different groups to engage in authentic conversation around African American history and Black culture all connected intersecting with Black hair.

The goal is to dismantle social bias/norms of black hair in communities and teach attendees how to have new conversations or interactions that reflect a better understanding of black hair.
